Would I be better off just redoing windows entirely and starting fresh? Just wondering as this is a work pc as well and I can add my important programs first to see if the issue still persists or if not then I can add back my gaming and other nonessential programs later.

If you can clean install that is always the best option as it eliminates problems related to:
malware, ransomware, corruption of the operating system, registry, drive file system, boot partition, drivers, applications, etc.

This is a tutorial on clean install:
Clean Install Windows 10 | Tutorials

    Download Windows 10

After the clean install Windows by default will install many non-Microsoft drivers.
For better performance it is best to download and install drivers from the computer or motherboard manufacturer website.
These are the best tested drivers.

    X99-A/USB 3.1 Driver & Tools | Motherboards | ASUS USA

For any drivers needed and not displayed the next best sources are the component manufacturer websites: Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Killer Networks, Realtek, etc.

    IntelĀ® Driver & Support Assistant
    NVIDIA

Third party websites can install unknown files.

After the clean install > install drivers > update Windows > install applications > evaluate computer stability / instability

This is the same problem device / driver as before the clean install.

See post #12 in the code section.

    Code:
    ASMedia USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 (Microsoft)	PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1242&SUBSYS_86751043&REV_00\4&2C9BF1CA&0&00E4	43
    Code:
Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)	USB\VID_0000&PID_0002\5&1CC0E58A&0&7	43

The drivers can be tried and if they cannot be installed that usually indicates a problem with the hardware.

If available open a ticket with the manufacturer after trying these troubleshooting steps:

Right click on the unknown device.
    Left click uninstall
After the uninstallation click action on the menu bar
Click scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.

If it fails to find a suitable driver and reappears as an unknown device then attempt to download the applicable driver from the Microsoft catalog:

    Microsoft Update Catalog

Ill reach out to asus to see about options. Is there anyway to tell if this usb issue is the actual problem of my crashes or something else? If the usb issue isn't causing problems, I can forgo dealing with it for now. Im just not sure what else could be causing the bsod. I guess Ill have to wait for the next one given the new win install. If you have any other advice that would be great. I greatly appreciate all your help.

    1) There were no dump files to debug.
2)The memory dump was accidentally deleted possibly using Ccleaner.

    3) With a clean install it is now time to use the computer as usual and see if there are any problems.

    4) If you had overclocked please use the computer for a while without overclocking to reduce confounding factors

    5) If there are any problems you can open a new thread or reopen this one.

    6) There are problems after the clean install as displayed in the live kernel reports:

    Code:
    Name LastWriteTime Size (MB)
    ---- ------------- ---------

    USBHUB3-20190120-0138.dmp 1/20/2019 3:38:39 AM 0.25
    USBHUB3-20190120-0159.dmp 1/20/2019 1:59:13 AM 0.25

    USBHUB3-20190120-0229.dmp 1/20/2019 2:29:16 AM 0.25

    7) What happened with the driver from the Microsoft website?
    Did it fail to install?

    8) Is the computer under warranty?

If it is under warranty then contact Asus.

    9) Consider opening a new thread in this forum for the Asmedia host controller:

    10) Turn off Windows fast startup:

    11) Open startup and recovery system failure and uncheck automatically restart or run this command in administrative command prompt: wmic RecoverOS set AutoReboot = False
