Freezing on new- motherboard, fresh install

    Hi,

My desktop was getting BSODs and freezing. Since I am not good at PC troubleshooting I've taken it to repair... twice.

One tech said it was the motherboard, so I got a new one, had it installed and also upgraded by 150 SSD to a 250 GB SSD, then I started having problems booting into windows.

I then took it to a second tech who said it was a driver graphics driver issue and reinstalled windows and updated the graphics driver.

Since I got it back from second tech the BSODs have stopped but it is still freezing. Sometimes once a day, sometimes once every ten minutes. It happens most often when I am watching videos (such as youtube, netflix or vlc player) but also when the computer is just idling. The only way to get it back to normal is to restart. I haven't really installed anything since I got it back except office 365 for work.

I searched the issue online and have tried the following fixes:

    -Adjusting/Increasing Virtual Memory
-Disabling the C states in the BIOS.
-Changing the power to high performance.
    - "Paused" all windows updates

I've attached the zip file as per forum instructions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please fill in your system specs
Please follow this tutorial and download the tool. The tool will give you detailed information about your system specs, please fill in your system specs more completely including PSU, cooling and other used stuff like mouse, keyboard, monitor, case, etc.
The PSU, cooling and other stuff are NOT mentioned in the tool.

In the left corner below in your post you find 'My System Specs'. After clicking it you can find a link a little below that says 'Update your System Spec', click on this link to get to the page where you can fill in your system specs.

In the future, if you are asked to upload a zip log, please use the following version.
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
This version is essentially going to replace the one you used as it collects more information.

I would like to see some more detailled information about your system in regards to the memory, CPU and motherboard, and also check some drivers.
    Please do the following.

    Detailed system information
Please run CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID, open it and make screenshots of the following tabs
    • CPU
    • Mainboard
    • Memory
    • SPD*
    • Graphics

*SPD shows the details of each stick, you can show the details by choosing different slots in the left upper corner.

Please make screenshots of each stick.
Please post each screenshot in your next reply/replies.

Please run driver verifier using the following settings for 48 hours.
    • Special Pool
    • Force IRQL checking
    • Pool Tracking
    • Deadlock Detection
    • Security Checks
    • Miscellaneous Checks
    • Power framework delay fuzzing
    • DDI compliance checking

Warning: driver verifier could cause boot issues and/or performance issues.

Resetting driver verifier options (recommended in this order)
    1. In normal mode open an administrator command prompt and enter the below command
    2. In safe mode open an administrator command prompt and enter the below command
    3. On 3 boot failures, you'll boot automatically to the recovery options,
      • click Troubleshoot
      • go to the advanced options
      • choose command prompt
      • enter the below command

    4. Boot with the recovery media, see above 4 steps in option 3.
    5. Via the recovery options or recovery media, select a restore point prior enabling driver verifier

    Code:
    verifier /reset

    Crashed when running driver verifier
    1. Reset driver verifier
    2. Boot in normal mode if necessary
    3. Follow Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions to provide the requested logs

I noticed in your logs KMS activation, mostly used by enterprise, organizations and schools, was Windows activated by one of the techs?

Yes it was. I still have my old product key if it is invalid.

Please try to activate your installation with the product key.

The activation you're Windows installation is currently using is not legally installed, many do it because it is a lot cheaper. Unfortunately, when we detect this we do not provide support as it is against forum rules. However, in some situations if you have a key or can acquire a key to activate Windows and it's reflected in the logs that a genuinely acquired key is installed, then in my opinion it's fine so long as it doesn't happen again. Please note that this is not limited to Windows, but applies to all programs that require a license.

No problem, I've activated it with my product key and re attached the logs.

I thought that might of happened because when I asked the repair guy if he needed my key to he refused but I just figured they did a factory reset.

They rarely do, because, from my perspective, a clean install from new install media is more effective usually.

I'll wait for the results of driver verifier.
