BSOD - Page Fault in Non Paged Area

    Attachment 216871
    Good Morning,
I've been experiencing BSOD for about a week now, on the average of 3 times an hour only when the system is idle (no one doing anything on the system). I play World or Warcraft and Destiny 2 every evening and the system never crashes, but as soon as I logoff of Battle.net within the next hour the system will get the BSOD Page Fault in Non-Paged area. No error codes, are on the BSOD Page, the system creates the dump and then reboots. On December 3rd I updated my video driver with the most current driver available, 417.22, I also installed a Microsoft updates (KB4100347 & KB4023057). I backed out the updates, but the system still crashed with the same error - I reinstalled the updates. I've reviewed your tutorials and have tried to analyze the minidump. I've come up with nvlddmkm.sys or pffilter.sys as possible culprit's. I installed an earlier version of the video driver 416.94, but I received multiple dumps after the installation completed all indicating nvlddmkm.sys. Most of what I read concerning the driver 4.17.22 was video problems while playing games or watching movies, but my issue was not found, in that I can play for hours (5 or 6) and experience no problems. Even creating this post the system has behaved. I normally don't request assistance in identifying a problem but this one has me scratching my head. I've attached the information detailed in your tutorial. I actually loaded up Destiny 2 last night and kept it running while I was watching Netflix on my Xbox, didn't want the audio to be interrupted by a reboot. No crashes until I closed Destiny 2.

That's a really nice Nvidia TITAN X (Pascal) video card. Since changing the Nvidia driver doesn't change anything, have you tried working on pffilter.sys? According to Carrona.com it's:

    Driver Description: IObit Protected Folder
    Driver Update Site: http://www.iobit.com/password-protected-folder.html

Do you use this? If not uninstall it. If you do use it, update to the latest version as the pffilter.sys you have is dated
    Sun Nov 18 18:07:18 2012

Might want to get rid of IObit Advanced System Care, at least for now, see if that makes a difference.

As for Nvidia, you've tried 417.24 and 416.94, you could try a few others, like 417.01 or 416.81.

Looked at the dumps, all were the same:
    Code:
    BugCheck 50, {ffffffffffffffd0, 2, fffff8019576bef2, c}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for pffilter.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for pffilter.sys

Could not read faulting driver name
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for win32k.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for win32k.sys
    Probably caused by : pffilter.sys ( pffilter+32df )
Also, all have this error pointing to your Nvidia card/driver:
    Code:
    ffffc685`5986f698 fffff804`a8886da4Unable to load image \SystemRoot\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_6992f55a2cc4b209\nvlddmkm.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys
     nvlddmkm+0x206da4
Also saw one of these which is for your Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter wireless driver:
    Code:
    ffffc685`5986fa78 fffff804`a9db4831Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\bcmwl63a.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for bcmwl63a.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for bcmwl63a.sys
     bcmwl63a+0x24831
You have a lot of RAM, 64GB, so testing it is something to keep in mind for later.

Yes, the Titan X (Pascal) card makes gaming so nice, you can see forever. I ran the Microsoft memory test over the weekend (meant to put that in the Original Post), I will uninstall Advanced System Care to see if that makes a Difference. No new BSOD's since posting the message. Will download more Graphics drivers (previous) as well.

With the 64GB pf RAM you have, it will take days (3-4) to get the number of passes need to do a reasonable test. Also, we recommend memtest86 as the tool to use for testing.

Let's see where we stand in a day or two.

Ok, I'll download Memtest86 and run it over night, the Microsoft Memory test took about 3 hours. Uninstalled Advanced System Care and deleted the software associated with pffilter.sys. Will maintain a watchful eye on the system. Appreciate the help.

As I said, 64GB is going to take days. You need a minimum of 8 passes for a reasonable test. We've seen many cases where a failure didn't occur until the later passes.

Update - No crashes last night, first time in a week the system hasn't rebooted dozens of times. Did not run the Memtest86 last night, will wait on doing that as it will take some time.Need to update my gaming notebook with my most current games.

Approx. 48 hours without a crash, thinking about updating the Video Driver to the most current one 417.22. The problem started about the time 417.22 was installed back on 12/3. Thoughts?

Sounds like a good plan. I would not be at all surprised if it was Iolo software as it's been known to cause problems at times.
