Multiple BSOD before and while attempting to Install Windows 10

Hi everyone,*

Specs:

CPU - Intel i5 6700K

Mobo - MSI Z170A Gaming

GPU- EVGA Geforce GTX 1070*

RAM - 2x 8GB GSkill Ripjaws 4 DDR4-2133

PSU - EVGA Supernova 750W G2

A cheap PCI wifi card that I've forgotten the brand of

Drives:

500 GB SAMSUNG 850 Evo SSD

240 GB Kingston SSD

1TB Seagate HDD

LG Blu-Ray Disc Rewriter Optical Drive

I'm at the end of my rope with some PC issues. I had been having some BSOD errors on Windows 7, so a few days ago I used the Windows 10 Media Creation tool to create a USB, and then wiped all of my drives and attempted to install Windows 10.*

Sometimes I get through the Setup process, and other times I dont. The farthest Ive gotten is after Setup is "complete" and my PC restarts to get me to where it should ask for keyboard layout and whatnot, I get a BSOD. It is most often either KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE or IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL, but I have also seen CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT and RESOURCE_NOT_OWNED.

I have removed the other two drives, leaving only the SSD I intend on putting the OS on, as well as all USB devices besides a mouse a keyboard, and I've removed the GPU.*

I was able to run 8 passes of Memtest86 while both sticks of RAM were in, and received no errors. Still, I have tried to only use one stick while installing Windows to no avail.*

I have deleted all partitions, reset the CMOS by removing the battery, reset BIOS settings, swapped SSDs, swapped SATA cables, and I'm hoping that I dont need to replace the CPU or mobo, as I cant afford to and finals are coming up. I have no access to Windows, so solutions involving software like Speccy or HWM wont work at the moment, though I can access the control prompt through system repair (though system repair cannot repair my system...).

Have you got a spare spinner you can use to install Windows? (And I would use a different SATA port)

You are using an SSD, do you have an old HHD (Spinner) that you can try install on.

Ah you learn every day, yeah I have a 1TB HDD. You think it's the SSD? I'm out at the moment but I'll try and start installation on the HDD when I get home.

Don't know if it is the SSD but you have to start eliminating items. You checked memory, disconnect all non-essentials.

Your machine was stable enough to run 8 passes of Memtest86 and I would bet that took hours.

Yeah that took about 11.5 hours.

I'll let you know when I've tried to install onto the HDD.

Alright, I tried to install onto the HDD and got the kernel security BSOD while Setup was running, during the step Installing Features.

I tried again, and this time it succeeded and my PC restarted as it should, but after a while at this loading screen:

I got another BSOD, this time RESOURCE_NOT_OWNED.

Now, when I try and boot up, I get this screen:

I might try getting another copy of Windows 10 using the media creation tool on a different USB.

I would also load defaults into BIOS.

Not saying to update BIOS but do you know if there is a more recent BIOS available for your Motherboard.

My initial thoughts were this is not a Windows software issue as it started with with Windows 7 and carried forward with Win 10 although the BSOD's maybe totally different.

Have you examined your MB for any distorted capacitors? Have you reseated all connections, remove and reconnect.

Can you recall anything happening before this all started under Win 7? (Major power failure, relocation of device, installation of new gear)

Nothing major happened before the BSOD started to my knowledge. I think I updated my Java?

I haven't updated my BIOS since I bought the MOBO in 2015 so it probably has an update.

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary on the MOBO either.

And the Windows 10 I have on this USB is generated using the Media Creation Tool, but I could try another USB.

On another note, I installed Ubuntu 18.04 onto the SSD and havent had a crash yet. I was even able to run a disk diagnostic called smartctl. Everything seems fine, here are the images, not sure if they'll help:
