    Bad system config info


    Get this error on startup “bad system config info”
    Can someone advise how to fix this?

    Hi Wakesta,
    Have you made any changes as to what Windows should use to boot, in msconfig for example? That is a very common reason for this BSOD error.

    This error basically means that there is corruption in the SYSTEM registry hive, but it doesn't occurs because of actual corruption in the hive.

    To properly suggest potential solutions, a dump would be needed.
    In the recovery environment, could you go to the console and copy all dumps in X:\Windows\Minidump to a USB stick and upload them as a zip file.
    You can do copy the dumps to a USB stick with the following commands
    Code:
    cd..
    cd Minidump
    copy *.dmp "<USB stick>"
    Change <USB stick> to the letter of the USB stick, e.g.
    Code:
    copy *.dmp "F:\"
    To find the letter of the USB stick, use the following commands
    Code:
    diskpart
    list volume

    Tried this not working can’t get into the console in safe mode.

    How can I wipe windows and start again from the command prompt ?

    I assumed you couldn't get into safe mode or normal mode, in safe mode you can just use the copy the files via a command prompt.
