Multiple BSOD When Launching Various Games

Recently built my first custom computer and have been having issues ever since. Setup is listed below:

    OS: Windows 10
    CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K
    Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z370-P LGA1151 DDR4
    Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz
Graphics Card(s): Nvidia GTX GeForce 670

The card is a bit older yes, and I will be updating shortly (just waiting on additional funds), however have not had issues before with this card. All other components are brand new.

The BSODs occur whenever I launch various games (not all, but not specific to one or two) immediately after they start or shortly thereafter. The error codes rotate between the following:

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

    and

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello and welcome to TenForums

What frequency are you running the memory at? The CPU specs recommend that DDR4 memory is run at 2666Hz

Remove any overclocking and see if you can improve stability.

Nothing useful in the dump that I can see. The eventlog has a lot of these though:
    Code:
    Event[5235]:
      Log Name: System
      Source: nvlddmkm
      Date: 2018-10-02T20:46:52.852
      Event ID: 13
      Task: N/A
      Level: Error
      Opcode: N/A
      Keyword: Classic
      User: N/A
      User Name: N/A
      Computer: DESKTOP-02LBORP
      Description: N/A
nvlddmkm is part of the Nvidia device driver.

There are also a lot of other Nvidia entries in the event log. You already have the latest driver for your GeForce 670 card so I suggest completely uninstalling the Nvidia display drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from WagnardMobile here: Official Download Here. Do this in Safe Mode. Then get the latest driver for your Nvidia card here: NVIDIA Driver Downloads

Then do a custom install of only the NVidia graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

See if that gets rid of the problem.

Reset everything to default, no changes. The 2666Hz isn't an option so I've selected closest to that, as well as Auto, and neither fixed the issue.

I've done as you recommended with no changes. Issue still occurs with the addition of KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED being added to the cycle of BSODs that I receive.

Also worth mentioning I've previously also reinstalled Windows 10 fresh, replaced the HDD I originally had with SSD to see if either would help and they haven't resolved the issue either.

Please post a new set of logfiles and this time use the beta log collector provided at the end of the BSOD posting instructions.

Try running with one DIMM module at a time to see if either one or the other is triggering the crashes.

As instructed, I removed one of the modules and ended up working perfectly. Swapped it to see if the other module was bad but that module by itself was grand as well. Reinserted both into the A1/B1 slots per the manual and then started having issues again.

So as long as I only want to run 8GB of RAM instead of my 16 I'm fine, but it shouldn't be having issues together should they? Any ideas what could be causing that?

Try using the A2 B2 slots instead. This should make a difference. They are slots number 2 and 4 when counting from the processor side.
