Windows 10 keeps restarting when I shutdown, something to do with WPN?

Hi all, I need help with my new laptop. I have an ASUS ROG GL503GE Strix laptop that I bought last month but I've been having some issues. Namely, when I shutdown, it keeps restarting instead, without displaying the Republic of Gamers logo. The only workaround that I found so far is to click Restart instead of Shut Down, in which it will display the ROG logo and proceed to restarting Windows normally, then I can shut down my laptop normally from there.

The only unusual log I've seen in Event Viewer is this:

"The Windows Push Notifications User Service_16bcf2 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 5 time(s)."

If you need further information, please let me know.

    Hi soulannihilator,

Please try the following for more information, this is only a suggestion for diagnostic purposes and not a solution:
In configuration panel, go to system, click Advanced system settings, click settings at Startup and Recovery, UNcheck Automatically restart.
Shutdown your system and post back what happens.

Hi axe, sorry for my late reply.

I already did that before but the problem persists. And then in the past 2 days, I didn't encounter the issue again. I thought everything was ok but the it reoccured just now. And I think it has something to do with anything plugged in to the USB 2.0 port, be it my external HDD or my cooling pad. I'm still trying to deduce the problem, and I'll try to reproduce the same scenario later.

Well, as mentioned it is not a solution, but rather a diagnostic step to potentially get more information about the problem.
