    BSOD playing games, irql_not_less_or_equal, problem with iaStorAVC.sys


    Hello experts!
    I've been having some problems while playing games like GTA V. It came recently, but not sure if I installed any new drivers, except a network driver, which I believe I reverted back to a previous version which didn't help. I've made sure windows 10 is up to date, aswell as running Dell SupportAssist and updating latest driver through geforce experience.

    After running WinDbg Preview I found that it was "Probably caused by : iaStorAVC.sys ( iaStorAVC!Wcdl::Allocator::freeContiguous+20 )"

Doesn't really recognise if theres an update or not automatically, and the driver directory seems just to put me to some default site.

    I think I've been able to find some more info. Upon uninstalling the latest update to windows 10, it seems to fix the BSOD issue. Playing GTA Online only seems to crash due to some other error now. I just tried reinstalling the update again, but now I have audio stutters when theres a little more heavier load, like loading GTA.

    1) The logs are in a foreign language and cannot be scanned or read.

    3) If the computer has Ccleaner > click windows tab > scroll down to system and advanced > post an image into the thread
    4) In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings
    a) > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery > click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery into the thread.
    b) > on the advanced tab under performance > click on settings > under performance options > click on the advanced tab > under virtual memory > click on change > post an image of the virtual memory tab into the thread

    For the debugging the dump files are debugged.
    On txt files the debugging commands cannot be run.
    There were no dump files collected by the log collector.
    If you have another file with the recent dump files please post a one drive or drop box file into the thread.

    Navigating to this place: C:\Windows\Minidump doesn't show any dump files. However I did manage to store one dump file "081318-18984-01.dmp" before, but this is what you already see in my original post. I've attached it anyway, inside the .zip (which now should be in english) in the "NIKLAS-DELL-INS (2018-08-15 07 21).zip\Crash Dumps" location.

    The Rapid Storage Driver was already installed (I did that at some point) but was updated, it seems. Will let you know if it helped.

    1) For startup and recovery system failure:
    a) uncheck automatically restart

    The default setting is to use automatic restart and with this checked it can be easy to miss BSOD.
    With automatic restart unchecked you should see a BSOD windows with bugcheck and : (
    Sometimes you may see a misbehaving driver in the form *.sys
    At the beginning of each BSOD there is a % counter. If you see it please allow it to rise to 100 % before rebooting so that there is sufficient time to create the dump file.

    2) The mini dump was debugged and the debugging added no new drivers.
    3) The only misbehaving driver identified in the debugging was: iaStorAVC.sys

    4) There were many crashes and the logs displayed 4 different bugchecks:
    A
    C9
    D1
    18

    5) If there are any BSOD please run the beta log collector and place a new zip into this thread.

    6) Run HD Tune (free edition) (on each drive)
    HD Tune website
    Post images into the thread for test results on these tabs:
    a) Health (SMART)
    b) Benchmark
    c) Full error scan

    Will try the HDTune on both drives.

    After installing the raid driver update, it seems as if theres no problems. I've played for 1½ hours, with no crashes. But I'm not able to fully identify it as a fix just yet, as I think I would need to play longer. No stuttering in audio though, while loading the game opposed to before installing it.

    Really appreciate your help
