BSOD while playing games. Also, updates will not install.

    Attachment 194596

While playing The Talos Principle and Mirrors Edge I get a BSOD. Threat stuck in device driver. Usually takes about 10 minutes of playing before it happens.

Worked with three Microsoft techs over chat but nothing they tried worked.

I have multiple pending updates for things like Word and Excel, but none of them will install. I get error code 0x80070663. Not sure if this is related, so I though I'd include it.

LMK if you need any more info.

    Welcome to TF!

Can you tell me what the Microsoft Techs asked you to do? This way we aren't repeating anything.

I also noticed there is only one dump file after you talked to the techs, did you receive anymore BSODs to verify that none of it worked?

They had me disable all nonessential Windows 10 programs, then restart the computer. I believe they did this b/c they though I had some third party antivirus software installed that was preventing all of my updates from installing. I knew I had uninstalled Avast a while back so that shouldn't have been an issue.

I gave one of them remote access and I was trying to follow along with what they were doing. I saw them check which drivers were installed, and they downloaded new ones and those were installed after restarting again.

After all that I tried playing a game again and I got the BSOD. After that someone I spoke with on Reddit told me how to enable minidumps. I suppose there were no dumps being made prior to this. I posted a link to the minidump on the Reddit thread and they have since replied with some things to try. Here is the link to that thread:

I stumbled on this forum and decided to ask for advice here as well. Trying to cast a wide net.

Stay with the Reddit thread until they fix you up or give up. I know you want help but please don't ask us to work on your problem when you already are receiving help elsewhere. We have limited resources here and as you can see, lots of problems to look at.

Thanks, and I hope you understand.
