New PC is rebooting when idle, event viewer returns "bugcheck" errors
I built an AMD Ryzen 2700x pc. New Samsung SSD and Windows 10 64bit pro installation. There have been no crashes or strange events aside from some issues surrounding the PC in an idle state---it seems to reboot for no reason.
If I boot the computer up and just let it sit, it will restart about once every hour (with the longest it has gone being about 3 hours). I checked the event viewer and each time it shows a "bugcheck error" and says the system rebooted unexpectedly. There are zero problems if the computer stays in use or is under heavy load.
I thought it had something to do with sleep/hibernate, so I turned on the performance mode in power options. This also made no difference. Sleep mode works fine, the PC powers down and turns on quickly where everything was left off.
I downloaded a thing called "whocrashed" and it thinks it is memory related. I have not yet done a memtest, but I have a hard time believing that idle PC memory issues would be causing this as opposed to a system under load.
I am using the motherboard XMP-2 profile with the memory at 3200mhz. I have already tested with and without the overclock......Memory makes no difference. Any other ideas?
