BSOD Hal.dll with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

The drivers that were involved in the crash were recurrent drivers:
fireface
nvlddmkm

Perform the following steps:
1) Turn off Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers

Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

2) Use DDU as performed earlier in the thread to uninstall GPU drivers
Find a rolled back version of the Nvidia GPU driver so that it is a different driver from the recurrent misbehaving driver (24.21.13.9836)

3) Uninstall and reinstall fireface

For Ccleaner the options was clicked.
Instead click cleaner.

then click windows tab > scroll down to system and advanced > post an image into the thread

Open a support ticket for firewire to see if they have alternative drivers:

See if you can uninstall all of the fireface software for a period of time and see if there is computer stability.

Someone on the RME forum suggested using the legacy driver for my Firewire Syba PCIe card. I didn't realize that was an option.
I got a crash though so here's that info. Probably same as before. For some reason there is no MEMORY.dmp file in C:\Windows

zbook, I will switch back to the USB connection and uninstall the Firewire drivers like I did last week. That didn't result in a crash at least for a week. Though there are audio glitches with that that are more frequent so I'm going to put up with the crashes for a couple more days here while I get some work done. Then I'll switch back to the USB for next week. If I get a crash with the USB, I'm gonna see if I can borrow a friend's audio interface for a bit. Another option is to try a different Firewire card.

The mini dump displayed the same misbehaving driver: fireface_64.sys

The logs displayed the location and size of the memory dump:

Use Everything search to find the file > zip > post a one drive or drop box share link

See if you can submit a support ticket to see if they have alternative drivers.

Okay so I've been talking with RME more. They wanted me to move my Firewire card to a different PCIe slot on my motherboard. I did that and I thought that fixed it. I didn't have a crash for about a week but got one last night. I've noticed that the crashes almost always occur when I close one specific program, Wwise. I'm tempted to say the crashes only occur when I close that program. That is certainly the case in the last 10 or so BSODs I've had.

Here's the log collector report and the memory dump file. Probably nothing new but I would like to check just to make sure. The PCIe slot is the only thing I've changed since the last crash.

I should clarify that I'm still using the Firewire connection even though I said I would switch back to USB in a previous post.

So to update this thread, I've been using the built-in Realtek soundcard (using the headphone output) for a week and have no stability issues. No crashes or BSODs or audio performance issues otherwise. I told RME this as well and I'm waiting for a response. There seems to be a conflict between the RME and NVIDIA drivers. My next step is to get a different audio interface and see how that goes.

Before I switched to the Realtek hardware I was also trying different PCIe slots in my computer. My GFX card is in the other PCIe slot and I moved everything else around too but I was still getting the BSODs with the same errors.
