    Windows 10 BSOD 0xc0000021ca

One sunday morning I open up my pc to a blue screen. It collects data and then says it fails to repair my computer. No advanced options in the recover work, no system restore, not even a system reset. I would appreciate any help!

    Hi skotina,

    Welcome to 10forums

The system repair option creates a file in "windows\system32\logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt". Via the command prompt in advanced recovery options could you copy this file to a USB and upload it via a different pc.
You can copy the file by using the following command
    Code:
    copy X:\Windows\System32\logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt "F:\"
The letter 'F' is the USB, change the letter to the letter in use by the USB.

It says it cannot find the path. When I go to cmd and type c: and then dir it shows that c drive is empty, even thought thats ky windows drive?

Update: I have located the windows drive as F: . I am now attempting to run some fixes through from a youtube tutorial. Will upload the file if it fails.

What fixes do you mean, could you share the youtube link?
Most of those fixes don't help many users, because they are not valid for them.

    This is the youtube link
None of the options, an i mean none, are working. System restore, safe mode, even the reset doesn't work. And none of the commands from the youtube vid worked, as you said.

Just to explain, the error code means a file that is crucial for Windows to do anything is corrupted. This is usually a result of Windows being unable to properly get its data into the memory, because of bad memory or because the hard drive is bad.

You're unfortunate because the file that apparently is corrupted is a file that Windows uses when it boots.

What I suggest you to do is the following:
From a working pc, download an ISO of Windows 10 and mount it, then go to the folder 'Boot' and go to the folder 'resources' where you find the file bootres.dll. Copy this file to a USB, boot your pc and insert the USB, change the directory to F:\boot\resources\custom and copy the file to this folder, then attempt to boot.

If it fails, please run startup repair again and upload the srttrails.txt.

Please note: this will be a process of trial and error. I am not 100% certain if my above suggestion will fix your problem due to a number of reasons:
    - using the ISO, you'll get the newest copy of the file, but I am unaware if this file has changed in a way that might cause issues
    - many Windows files have certain security permissions, I am unaware of the security permissions of this file which may also cause issues but relatively easy to fix
Your system will not get into a worse condition after trying my above suggestion!

Wait, could explain how to replace the .dll file in more detail? The path you've specified does not work.

looks like the file is still corrupt...I was thinking of maybe going to the directory of windows via a bootable secondary OS which I have (if i find the USB), deleting the bootstrap file and replacing it with the fresh one...

That is what I suggested in my own words
Only, the error code 0x2 means the file is missing so you just have to copy it to the right location.
