BSOD During Restart, following new RAM upgrade & fresh Windows 10

Repeated MEMORY MANAGEMENT error BSOD after RAM upgrade from 2GB to a new 4GB Kingston DDR3 1600Mhz, 1.35V. Installed a fresh Windows 10 & did all automatic driver updates. Still got a BSOD during restart.

I checked the ram with Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool & found no problems. Please help me find out what could be the problem. I also removed my wasted battery pack now my notebook runs plugged in from a UPS

    Hi OfWolfAndMan ,

Welcome to the Ten Forums BSOD forum.

    What were automatic driver updates?
Were they from the Asus website and component manufacturers, or using third party software?

    There was one mini dump.
Debugging did not display a definitive misbehaving driver.
The operating system was just installed and the logs are less then one day old.
With time there should be more information in the logs or more dump files to troubleshoot.

    1) Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
This may take hours so plan to run it overnight.
    a) Please make sure you use the Memtest86+ version 5.01 with the link below.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
The testing is done not by time but by passes.
    The more passes the better.
There are a significant number of false negatives if fewer than 8 passes are made.
A false negative is a test pass when there is malfunctioning RAM.
There is 4 GB of RAM on the computer.
    Memtest86+ version 5.01 testing takes approximately 1 - 2 hours /GB RAM
Just 1 error is a fail and you can abort testing.
    b) When Memtest86+ version 5.01 has completed 8 or more passes use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.

    2) Check the Asus website to see if there is a BIOS update: 210 > 211

    3) For BSOD run the BETA log collector:
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
    https://www.tenforums.com/attachment...-v2-beta10.zip
    (extract > open)
Use the information in this link in case there are any problems running the beta log collector: (post #5)
DM Log tool problem Solved - Windows 10 Forums

    4) For the next BSOD > open file explorer > this PC > C: > in the right upper corner search for: C:\Windows\memory.dmp > zip > post a one drive or drop box share link into the thread

    5) If the computer has Ccleaner > click windows tab > scroll down to system and advanced > post an image into the thread

    6) In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings
    a) > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery > click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery into the thread.
    b) > on the advanced tab under performance > click on settings > under performance options > click on the advanced tab > under virtual memory > click on change > post an image of the virtual memory tab into the thread

Thank you zbook for your welcome & a very detailed reply.

For your question "What were automatic driver updates?"
I let Windows Update take care of the task of finding & installing necessary device drivers, & it automatically updated Touchpad, Graphics & Soundcard drivers to my knowledge. I also manually installed ATK package from ASUS website after my original post.

    1. I will run memtest86+ & post results accordingly by tomorrow morning.
    2. My BIOS is the latest version as per ASUS website (210 for X551CAP)
    3. I installed CCleaner but didn't run the cleaner (requested image attached below)

    Attachment 191531Attachment 191532Attachment 191533

Awaiting your thoughts on the matter. Btw I didn't get any BSODs today, I've been using my notebook for about 7 hours with several restarts in between.

For startup and recovery system failure > un-check automatically restart
When there is a BSOD it will display a windows with : ( and a bugcheck.
It may display a misbehaving driver in the form *.sys. If you see a misbehaving driver please record it and post it into the thread.
With this setting for every BSOD related crash the BSOD windows should remain until the system is rebooted.
Early in the BSOD there will be a % counter. Please make sure that if you see the counter that you allow it to rise to 100 % before rebooting so that there is adequate time to create the dump file.

Ccleaner does not need to be installed. It was mentioned as there are settings within Ccleaner that clean the needed files for troubleshooting.

Windows will automatically install many default drivers.
For optimal performance the best drivers are from the computer or motherboard manufacturers website.
The next best source for drivers are from the component manufacturer websites (Intel, Nvidia, AMD, Killer Networks, Realtek, etc.)
It is unclear what you are really getting when using third party websites that update drivers. So whenever possible please use the computer/motherboard and component manufacturers as sources for drivers.
