BSOD after Windows April update (Build. 17134; Check code 0x0000001a)

Prior to the Windows April update, I had zero issues with Windows. However, with the new build, I get a seemingly random memory management error. It can occur within an hour, or even after about a day; I've tried various solutions:

    • Updated BIOS firmware
    • Updated various drivers (graphics, network, etc.)
    • Updated software (thought it might be related to Docker, but it's not)
    • Ran Memtest86 for a few hours with no errors.
    • Ran integrity check - again, no issues.

I highly doubt its a hardware problem, as the error has only occured since the update. The update itself completed without errors, and I'm not aware of compability issues with the new update.

I dug through WinDbg and noticed that process associated with the crash is SearchFilterHost.exe.

I can rollback to the previous build, but I'd like to at least try to fix this.

    Hello Beppo,

The memory test requires at least 8 passes to confirm the module is OK. With your modules I would test them one at a time since it could take a while to do them together. See below for the recommended test:

    Diagnostic Test

     RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

    Note   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.
