Update Failed Tonight, Win 10 Tried Auto Rollback, Now OS Wont Load!

hey guys, on my main pc tonight i did the big windows 10 update. during the update i got a blue "something went wrong" screen. windows 10 tried to undo the update but now each time i turn my pc on i get the first windows 10 loading screen, then it goes to a black screen with my mouse and nothing loads past this. can you guys help me restore my windows to when it was working? the windows auto repair wont kick in no matter how many times i shut down my pc. is there a repair disk i can burn? should i try my windows 10 install disc? is there a way i can boot into safe mode like old windows versions? please help me! thank you very much!

i made a video to show exactly whats happening:

Download Windows Media Creation Tool on a working pc and have an USB-dongle ready, 8GB will suffice, choose to create usb, when finished you boot it up in the troublesome pc and choose either repair or new install, depending on what you fancy.

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, port replicator, docking station, USB wireless network card, etc.)

What was the version/build of Windows that had been in use prior to the upgrade attempt?

so all the options in the troubleshoot so far dont work. when i try system restore it tells me to restart my pc and select an os, but doing so never gives me the option. restore to earlier version doesnt work and recommends i reset the pc. the " fix start up" also does not work at all. is there anything i can do in command prompt? can i hook up my hdd to a different computer and do anything there? thank you guys, it looks more and more like i have to reformat.

hey guys, ive hooked up the c drive to another computer. i can still access all the folders and save stuff which is nice. should i completely reformat this drive and do a fresh windows install if needed or do the reset pc thing? does resetting the pc keep my programs installed? or is it basically reformatting? thank you!

I have to say yes, you will save time and the pc will benefit from a complete wipe. I would do that at least. As long as you know that your pc has been activated with Microsoft, so your Windows 10 license is legit, the all out wipe is a great way to ensure no problems follows from the old installation.

Reseting may include apps and stuff, but in my experience that is never as beneficial as starting anew.

I never reset, unless I have to in order to check that the Windows 10 system has been approved by Microsoft, but then I usually end up wiping the disk afterwards anyway.
