BSOD Unity; error DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION possibly by GTX 960M Driver?

    Good afternoon! I have a Lenovo Y700 Touch-15ISK model 80NW000PUS laptop.

I've been wanting to learn more about the Unity game engine, but when I try clicking on the "Play" button in a basic setting with just a plane and a ball, more often than not, my laptop freezes/hangs for about 4 minutes before the BSOD screen comes up. Sometimes, the laptop instantly restarts before it could finish collecting data on what caused the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION error.

I've used a program called WhoCrashed and this is what it says:

On Tue 4/3/2018 12:11:14 PM your computer crashed or a problem was reported
    crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\040318-5781-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x175510)
    Bugcheck code: 0x133 (0x1, 0x1E00, 0xFFFFF80244E01370, 0x0)
    Error: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
    file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
    product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
    company: Microsoft Corporation
    description: NT Kernel & System
Bug check description: The DPC watchdog detected a prolonged run time at an IRQL of DISPATCH_LEVEL or above. This could be caused by either a non-responding driver or non-responding hardware. This bug check can also occur because of overheated CPUs (thermal issue). The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

I've been trying to do research on this issue, and it could seem that I could need to update firmware on my hard drive or M.2 SSD (which I doubt), but I believe the issue could be stemming from the Nvidia GTX 960M driver, which I've updated, tested, uninstalled, tested, and to no avail, I cannot fix this aggravating issue. I've tried to look into countless other threads to see if I can finally fix this issue, but I can't seem to find a good solution. I hope the great people here can help me solve this issue!

The crash dump in the logfiles points to the TouchPad driver as being the probable cause.

See if you can update the driver.
