The drive is okay by the HD Tune tests.
The chkdsk command can be run anytime to check and fix the file system bitmap.

So far HD Tune and chkdsk are okay.
So clean install deleting all partitions making an unallocated drive.
See the links in the prior posts.
Once you have completed the restoration use the computer for 1 - 2 days to create log files.
Then if you have any problems you can run the log collector if there is anything to troubleshoot.
the clone has the corrupted files as i only just cloned it before posting here, how would that work
Sorry, I missed a word
"the clone of the HD was done 2 days ago, not before the corrupt windows file/s"
I've completed the Clean install of Windows, activated and upto date. Now just installing software, and figuring out how to find products keys and email signatures and so on.
Computer running fine after clean install of Windows. Restored all personal files, and downloaded/install the software. No problems for 2 days now.
