Try a scan with Malwarebytes. If other browsers behave the same, you may have just network problem, or malware.
Anyway, good luck

I am having the same or similar issue with Edge. All other browsers work great - Firefox 57, Opera, etc.. Only with Edge do I run into the following issue. When I open Edge, it is slow to open. Then when I want to type an address or open a new tab, things crawl so slow it's weird. If I type Google in the search bar, it will type G then wait a few seconds, then show O, then wait a few seconds, then type O, wait a few seconds. Over all it takes a good 10-15 seconds for the words to type out completely. This only started after the install of the Fall Creator's Update. I am on Version 1709, Build 16299.64 even though it appears that KB4051963 (OS Build 16299.98). My Windows Update dows not offer me this version and says it's up to date.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

As I understand, you do not have the latest Win10 build and can't upgrade ?
Do you receive other updates, e.g. Windows Defender ? If not, you may try to reset the update service (1st link) or do another upgrade to Win10 (2nd link). May be best to do the latter.
You may also consider a clean install (3rd link).
I am finding Edge is opening up ok but when I open up the latest version of Yahoo mail this is opening ok and messages are all displayed ok but when I try to open message it takes about 30 seconds to open anyone else got this problem
