Mail Notification Question

Hi, David. paulsalter told me that he received the Mail app update. I have not so far. You may want to open by typing Reliability Monitor into search and open it.

BTW, that answer you received in the MS forum is more or less a pat answer. I swear those people do piece work. The more answers they give and phone calls they answer, the more they make. IOW per answer or call.

Just a Quick reply for now. I found Post #1681 on page 169 so HippsieGypsie you might want to EDIT your link.
Here is the correct link.

This is not ideal, but is much better
I received the mail app update as mentioned above
this morning I also followed this to re register the store apps

If I have mail open, everything is working perfect, calendar and email notifications received as expected
not tested with mail closed yet, but will test that tomorrow

This all depends on how many post to view per page in your account settings. Mine is at 20 per, so therefore will generate a different URL.

I have six Critical events and 2 Warnings in the last week. The Mail and Calendar Update FAILED.
Reliability Monitor great post HippsieGypsie. (can I just type Hippie in the future without offending you?)
Another item I did not know was there, disappointed when I clicked on "check for solutions to all problems" at the bottom of the Monitor. It was kind of like communicating with a Microsoft Employee (try it and see).

Members just use HG. Easy to type.
Yeah, tried that and nada too. They've got a ways to go with 10 yet. Glad I've got my 8.1. :)

Was there an update to Mail? Notifications suddenly started working for me this morning. (Unless disabling Facebook notifications last night did the trick. That would be an interesting conflict.)

You can use whatever email program you want - I use Thunderbird. I went to Settings/System/Defaults to make it the default email app and Firefox the default web browswer.
Not working again, three emails arrived with no sound, no banner and nothing in action center.
So here is my question, my Windows 10 does not give me the option to uninstall Mail. (see images below Admin & User).
Notice the move and uninstall buttons are "greyed out" or do not function. Also not sure why User has 313 MB and Admin 150 MB in size other than User account has 2 extra email accounts.
I WANT TO UNINSTALL MAIL AND REINSTALL IT OR ANOTHER MAIL APP.

I have several Outlook.com accounts set up. I put the check mark in the Show Notification Banner box and the box to Play a Sound. The banner notification works when I get new mail but I get no sound notification even though I have selected an e-mail message for "Desktop Mail Notification" and "New Mail Notification" in my sound scheme. Is this another thing in Windows 10 that does not work?
