Mail Notification Question

Mine also seem fine now, until I leave computer for a while
My next thing to rule out, as I am a laptop user, is the power options, I am not running on High Performance settings, not sure it will make a difference, but not tried it yet just incase something is sleeping after inactivity

I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro (MBAM lifetime license) it is set to scan daily.
No malware found in over a year. I do not access risky sites. I have had Mail App (Microsofts default app) problems since upgrading to Windows 10 on July 29, 2015.
Haven't you heard about the massive amount of complaints?
If you click on the link below it will take you to Microsoft's Community Forum where there are 50 pages of 20 complaints per page almost all on the Windows 10 Mail App. There would be more than that but Microsoft only posts the latest 1000 complaints, older complaints are deleted.

Thanks yes just had a look and my gmail. and yahoo sync ok once I altered the setting to go back future, also have set my mail on 10 t0 look for mail as soon as it comes in, also don't have the problem where only last 2 is kept.
Was away from laptop for 2 hours today and when I came back and woke it up all my mail that had been loaded in my absence was there waiting for me.
prehalps I set it up how I used to incredimail and having used that I find windows 10 mail app easy compered with that.
so what is going on when some members are having trouble could it be their antivirus is doing it I use McAfee live safe and it seems to allow me to do things other members are having trouble with or is it I have IE11 disabled, or all the latest drivers from Auslogic that is scanning all the time or CCleaner Pro that has a scanner working all the time.
It has to be something that I am doing different to other members

Hi that might be some of your trouble as mine is set to High Performance.
Also sleep never
just idles after 30 mins if nothing touched
I do shut down every other night or if update been installed but otherwise I leave well alone

Just need to get some emails now to see if it works :)
High Performance on
Sleep has been turned off, the only thing that turns off is the display after 60 mins of inactivity

Well here is a message that should trigger an email for you.
I think leaving my mail app open and reduced to an icon on my taskbar - makes notifications more reliable.
Something else to experiment with as time allows.

notifications totally dead today, though I haven't restarted my machine since yesterday morning (Cortana is also dead)
I am almost ready to just give up, turn off Action Centre and Cortana and just go back to using Win32 style apps with are 100% reliable
Having mail open does make it a lot more reliable, but after a few hours of non use it gives up, you notice this when you go to mail and it does a kind of refresh as though its restarting

I KNOW THAT FEELING.
Leaving my Mail App open then reduced to an icon on my taskbar has resulted in a "live tile" displaying for over 13 hours. Sounds and banners working the whole time. I can open and close action center without any info disappearing.
This is FYI and hope it helps you.

Did you set download to "as items arrive" inside mail>Settings>Accounts - that might stop it going to sleep.

This might not matter but I have a Laptop that is set to NEVER hibernate or sleep.
The display also is set the same way. When I am asleep I turn off sounds on my keyboard.
