    EDGE vrs FF speed test

    Unscientific test showing differences between Edge & FF from the same computer. It is very repeatable and shows some differences that may or may not mean anything. FF is faster on this test both up & down, but some interesting things so see. The test shows nice linear up slope and down slope on FF while Edge has a irregularity about half way up the leading slope noted by red circles on the download test. On the upload test, FF gets to maximum speed quite fast, while Edge ramps up on the speed. Edge is top graph, FF bottom graph.

    I'm seeing a consistently large difference between Firefox and Edge, with Xfinity internet.
    Firefox = 183mbps download
    Edge= 103mbps download

    I wonder why?

    One thing I have noticed on my PC is that Firefox will not play videos on foxnews.com but Edge will play all videos just fine.

    And I do unhook Ublock on FF but no matter what I do it will not play vids.....I also live in IL and I'm on Xfinity internet also.

    Also, with EDGE, the Xfinity speed tests gets to about 85% complete and says "Opps..Something Went Wrong"... Try again.

    I can try it 10 times and get the same error.

    Firefox and Chrome complete the test with no problem. Chrome gives 160mbps and Firefox 138mbps...on average.

    Edge is also the "heaviest" resource hog of the three.
