I get exactly the same as @Edwin. At Google search I have rounded edges though.

Microsoft Edge on Android (Chromium based) has rounded search bar now : microsoft

I personally prefer the rectangular search bar.

Right now I'm using Firefox (not a big fan of Samsung Internet).

I'm running Edge Beta, maybe that's it.

    EDIT: Nevermind, apparently not!

I have tried the beta version too. Same problem.

I think they are facing problems implementing UI on Chromium. Would Microsoft contributing to Chromium solve the problem? They have already proposed a high contrast mode but it's up to google to approve it..

I wonder if it matters what Droid OS you're on...

    My Phone's still on Nougat!

    My Tablet's on Oreo.

My tablet is on Lollipop and phone on Pie. Neither has rounded corners. I think it's a feature MS only enabled for a few selected.

    In their inimitable style!
What gives??? Is it a marketing ploy to make those who don't have the feature jealous!?!?!?

Honestly, I don't like this change and still don't think they intended to make it similar to Chrome. But I really appreciate your interest.

Anyway, do you remember when Edge beta used to have timeline feature? What happened to that?

Because of similarities between Samsung Internet and UC browser I have never been a big fan of the former ( UC actually has better night mode, it lacks high contrast mode though).

But one feature I find attractive in Samsung browser is that you can swap tab using top and bottom navigation bar (Edge only allows you to swap tabs using top notification bar).

Well, turns out - Chrome canary's latest builds allow you to swap tabs using bottom navigation bar.

I hope this functionality trickles down to Edge.
