With a brand new and previously unused Profile I do see suggestions for R, but only built-in generic Mozilla ones.

Try The Nightly build and you will see what I see no matter where you try it,

Did you try shutting off suggestions as I posted?

If you don't want to do that go to rbc.com and rbs.co.uk to build some history and try typing an R in the address / search bar and see if the porn site comes up.

I see AUTigers and I think university Auburn Tigers. Any chance you are located in university town and without history your location is being fed to Google for suggestions.
    Yes, it's been off.

Yes, my SN does stand for Auburn Tigers. I'm not located there but I am located in Alabama.

I did run AdwCleaner and it didn't find anything. I don't know what the problem is but it's not a big issue since no one but me uses this computer. I'm just wondering why deleting all my history and such never erased that. Guess somehow it's built into my Firefox profile so that even though I erased my history and cache and everything it didn't delete it from my search suggestions. Which, I still don't understand why I get any sense it's turned off.

I started using Fx 57 Beta 4 this morning and so far it is stable. I was using Nightly 58.

When you navigated to those two web sites that I gave you with R's did they replace the original porn search. Guess they wouldn't if suggestions is off.

Have you asked on any Mozilla forums where this might be coming from?

OK....so no one has stated the obvious. Since OP has cleared everything from synced/signed in to FF.....just uninstall FF and and delete any remnants of it and then download a fresh copy and reinstall.

Very good suggestion. I may try that later. Don't have time right now. Thanks.

    Hi AUTiger1,

it might be no longer of interest, but maybe it still is actual.
I got the same problem like you and was searching here - in this thread- for the solution, which I couldn't find.
I tried the Tip from "Caledon Ken" and by doing so came across the solution, without reinstalling Firefox and want to share this with you:

    1. go to the three Bars on the top left
    2. go to options
    3. go to Privacy and Safety (the symbol with the lock)
    4. Adressbar, when making use of the adressbar.....and unclick -> Entries from Bookmark and unclick -> Entries from Chronicle

This worked for me, I hope it does for you, too. Good luck!

I was going to suggest that too. Firefox pulls suggestions from bookmarks too, so if it's bookmarked, no amount of clearing history/etc will make it not appear.

I get no suggestions at all. I untick all those options under Address bar as well as the ones under Search. And set Firefox to delete history using custom settings for history. Never see any suggestion of any kind. So, you can get that done if thats what you want.

Yeah, that's why I don't have it bookmarked. I like getting the suggestions from my history because it keeps me from typing in everything when its a site that I don't have bookmarked. I just gave up on it because nothing I did fixed it.
