It was there in Win8/8.1, I'm dead sure - and now it's gone.
Funny enough, it's also not an option in thick clients like Outlook 2010 or 2013 because apparently the aliases are treated as individual accounts, not as child objects with settings and parameters underneath the actual Microsoft main account.

This lack of feature makes the Win10 Mail App rather useless because when I need to open outlook.com to switch to a different alias to be used in the mail app, I can just as well stay there and send my mail from there, rather than from the app.
    +1 +1 +1
I have my outlook.com shortcut on desktop and do away the silly "middle man" Mail app.

    Finally a fix!!

I registered to this forum just to post a fix to the notorious windows 10 mail alias issue... this is the only true fix that apparently works, and I tried it for myself. I felt obligated to share it with the millions of people probably having the same issue.. original post is here Windows 10 Mail App Shows Wrong Alias - Microsoft Community

    Fix:

    • Click on the start button and type "regedit". Run the Registry Editor.
    • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Active Sync -> Partners. There should be one child folder here for every email account you have configured.
    • Find the folder for your account - look for one with a "User" key that matches your old email address. Change the "User" and "Email" keys in this account to your new account.

I have been trying to get this issue fixed for 2 weeks now, been through 5 Answer Techs through Microsoft with no resolution. I am not very tech savy, but your simple instructions have fixed the issue! Cannot thank you enough!!!
