I already had custom DNS servers. First opendns and then googledns. I just reversed it and also updated intel wifi 7260 drivers. Now nearly everything works with options|recommended performance settings on.
    Thanks Mr.Callender and MR.f14tomcat.

Well, firefox is getting a bit laggy again, especially when loading videos. If i fast forward a video on youtube, the loading circle appears and the video freezes for a few seconds. I solved this last time by reinstalling windows, but its obviously not a good solution. I guess its time to do a fresh installation of firefox, or perhaps a fresh profile?

Also, i may potentially have found a good security tweak. If you set network.http.sendrefererheader to 0 in about config, it will stop websites from tracking your browser activity. I have no way of testing it though. I should probably also mention, that firefox just had an update, and i didnt get any popup message this time, other than a window showing the update progress.

I've found that for a few sites not sending referrer prevents downloads from those sites but it's no big deal to re-enable.

Alright thanks, im going to check them out.

Anyway, firefox seems to have gotten slow and laggy again, so i made a fresh profile. It seems that creating a fresh profile gets rid of the lag temporarily, but it always comes back again.

My problem with Firefox now is that it is consuming so much of my processor, causing my Fan to spin in overload, the noise is phenoninal, constantly running at high speed.
