Okay it gets complicated. You can actually use these programs to set file associations:
SetUserFTA
SetUserFTA: UserChoice Hash defeated the kolbicz blog
GetUserFTA
GetUserFTA the kolbicz blog
Anyway for now you can try using this:
Extract to a new folder somewhere handy.
It contains:
I've added a config file already so you don't have to create it yourself:
Contents of SetUserFTA.config:
Instructions.Code:.htm, FirefoxHTML-308046B0AF4A39CB .html, FirefoxHTML-308046B0AF4A39CB http, FirefoxURL-308046B0AF4A39CB https, FirefoxURL-308046B0AF4A39CB
Open command window in the directory that you saved to:
In the command window add SetUserFTA.exe SetUserFTA.config including the space to the path like this:
Press Enter. Then exit the window. Test to see if Firefox has been set as default browser. (Open a link from within a document or something)
