Try installing Cyberfox or Palemoon and test to see if you get the same problems with them. They use their own profiles and do not share your firefox profile.

Cyberfox - Browse Files at SourceForge.net

    The Pale Moon Project homepage

If they work without issues - it's time for a full removal (including removal of leftovers) and fresh install of Firefox.

I have been using ublock for some time now, and the lag problem is gone. I should probably also mention, that firefox seems to have become a lot more responsive after i bought a new wireless adapter. Sometimes i barely get to click on a website and its already loaded.

I use Nightly 58 with only the following extensions and have no problems:

FF sent me into panic mode couple days ago. I wasn't able to access my online banking or anything from my bank from FF or any other browser, it just kept on complaining about DNS until I changed these settings in FF:

I have no idea how it prevented any other browsers to connect only to that one place.

I have been using ublock for some time now. It has helped a bit with the lag. I still get a problem with firefox freezing for a few seconds every now and then though. It usually happens after i have been using the browser for a while.

I just changed the graphics card and mainboard on my computer, so i think the issue is with firefox and not my computer. Also, if i restart firefox without addons, the lag is completely gone.

I did some testing with cyberfox without addons and it works fine, just like firefox works fine without addons. I couldnt find my addons for cyberfox, so i have no idea how well it runs with my addons installed.

Also, the issue with lag and stuttering is still in firefox, and its annoying. So far, the only solution i have found is to restart firefox without addons, which makes the lag go away, but its not a good solution since i need my addons.

to a certainextent yes, but FF seems to be very slowly improving. FF was my default, then back ti IE, which was worse, so now I am trialing Vivaldi, so far so good

I havent seen any major improvements for many months regarding the lag. I have updated firefox many times, but the lag issue is still there unless i restart firefox without addons.
