I just found another problem with firefox. It seems like firefox splits up your downloads into two files sometimes, and then it fails to download them. I just had to install google chrome to download one of my files.

Im trying my best to keep up with the issues with firefox, but im losing track of them. I did my best to put them on the list with a description of the issues, but it seems like theres more issues with every update.

It would be best if the developers would stop creating new problems, and start working on the problems that already exists.

So we are in 2020. If anyone has found a solution for the rest of the problems, please let me know. Also, the option called extensions.fxmonitor.enabled seems to be gone from about config, so how do i stop firefox from collecting data? I have unchecked allow firefox to send backlogged crash reports on your behalf, allow firefox to install and run studies and allow firefox to make personalized extension recommendations as well as allow firefox to send technical and interaction data to mozilla in privacy and security. Is there anything else i should do to stop firefox from collecting data?

Also consider using Cliqz (modern firefox fork) - you can install alongside firefox to test as it uses it's own profile/#.

    Privacy Policy - Cliqz

Post showing Cliqz screenshot and download link

I am using windows defender. Strange, i don't see extensions.fxmonitor.enabled in about config? Is unchecking all the things i did good enough?

If you are only concerned about Mozilla:

Browse the Telemetry that Firefox collects - gHacks Tech News

    You could also try configfox:

ConfigFox - add your current profile. (File> Open Profile)

Check profile that is in use:

I still suggest testing Cliqz - FF addons should work.

I asked about antivirus because some of those errors you reported could be caused by enabling SSL scanning in some antivirus products but that shouldn't be the case with Defender.

Thanks, i have used the guide to disable telemetry and data collection. I have also marked the issue with telemetry and data collection as solved in the original post. What's the clean links addon for?

I just want to add that i just downloaded this adddon to help with secure connections. It didn't seem to work for me previously, but it does now, its simple and easy and it helps encrypting websites, which is especially important when send emails. I highly suggest this addon to anyone who takes their privacy and security seriously.

So one thing i want to know. Is it possible to give certain websites immunity from clearing your browsing history? e.g if you use firefox to clear your browsing and download history, it will remove absolutely everything. It will also remove the entire history of websites you have previously visited. I want to prevent some of these websites from being removed, such as tenforums as well as some other useful websites. I hope this makes sense, otherwise feel free to ask me for a clarification.
