I dont see any options to disable it. I see people saying that they changed to waterfox instead for privacy reasons, but i have tried the browser and it seems to be outdated.

Forget Waterfox. The developer is very slow to update it.

I'm not sure why you do not have the preference. Just for the sake of it I downloaded Firefox and I see this:

Or just use VivaldiFox extension and apply your own colors:

After all this time people still seem to be having problems with FF, or variants. I stopped using it quickly, after giving it another trial a few weeks ago, it's nothing different from 2-3 years ago. It still refuses to close down properly. And many other glitches that are quite annoying.

Well, i have come a long way trying to fix some of these problems. I have tried some of the other browsers i could find, but i didnt really like them, except from maybe google chrome.

I stopped using Firefox and Google Chrome a long time ago and don't get me started on IE.. Firefox being glitchy and dealing with Chrome's privacy issues. I moved to Slimjet and haven't looked back. It's built on the chrome open source but much more secure and Much Much more stable then Firefox.

What has improved a lot is Opera. Its my standby browser but at present Vivaldi is main one.
