Microsoft Edge giving error messages in Windows 10

    Hi,

Trying to get to grips with the many errors I seem to be getting on my new DELL Optiplex 5050/Windows 10 combination, one of these being Application Error Event 1000 Task Category 100 relating to Microsoft Edge:-

Faulting application name: MicrosoftEdgeCP.exe, version: 11.0.15063.483, time stamp: 0x595f2577
Faulting module name: EdgeContent.dll, version: 11.0.15063.540, time stamp: 0x62a3e2bf
    Exception code: 0xc0000409
    Fault offset: 0x0000000000068441
    Faulting process id: 0x558
    Faulting application start time: 0x01d3175a6a92a561
    Faulting application path: C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdgeCP.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\EdgeContent.dll
    Report Id: 3683f3aa-cf56-4115-a731-8bef84d954c8
    Faulting package full name: Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_40.15063.0.0_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe
    Faulting package-relative application ID: ContentProcess

I didn’t initially like Edge but its grown on me so I’d like to continue using it if possible. Anyone on here any ideas what’s happening? I have Googled but results seem to revolve around Edge crashing, refusing to start etc. Although Reliability Monitor reports Edge as having ‘stopped working’ it appears to work perfectly as far as I can see and shows no signs of crashing - but it does adversly affect my Reliability Monitor so I’d like to be able to sort it...

    My software specs are:-
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Version 1703 OS Build 15063.540
Microsoft Edge 40.15063.0.0 with uBlock Origin 1.13.8 (AdBlocker).

Just to confuse the issue Edge has behaved perfectly for the last few days...

    Thanks.

just when I thought it had gone away...

Well after running flawlessly for over a week MS Edge threw up three errors in Event Viewer this evening...ironically there were no ‘obvious’ problems, Edge appeared to be working as I’d expect

Faulting application name: MicrosoftEdgeCP.exe, version: 11.0.15063.483, time stamp: 0x595f2577
Faulting module name: EdgeContent.dll, version: 11.0.15063.540, time stamp: 0x62a3e2bf
    Exception code: 0xc0000409
    Fault offset: 0x0000000000068441
    Faulting process id: 0x18ac
    etc...

    and

Faulting application name: MicrosoftEdgeCP.exe, version: 11.0.15063.483, time stamp: 0x595f2577
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.15063.447, time stamp: 0xa329d3a8
    Exception code: 0xc00000fd
    Fault offset: 0x000000000002b168
    Faulting process id: 0x1e20
    etc...

Worse case I may have to use another browser, pity I quite like Edge...

Personally, I would not be concerned about the Event View errors if Edge is working properly. I also receive similar errors.

I have not researched the errors so I can't provide further insight.

I think you're probably right Torre, it would be nice to know what's causing these errors though. I ran the system file checker last night after I got the Edge errors and it found some corrupt files which it 'successfully repaired'. I occasionally run Wise Disc Cleaner and I'm wondering if that's causing problems... I'll not run that for a few days and see if there's any change.

I curse the day I ever found the Event Viewer !!!

    Thanks for your input.
