    Edge is not working

Edge is not working on my two computers. Is there a fix?

One is a Lenovo T450 Thinkpad. The other is a high-end Dell desktop.

When I click the shortcut on the desktop, nothing happens at all (other than a very brief hourglass pointer).

On the laptop I get this pop up:
    Edge is not working-x1.jpg

FYI ... on both, the shortcut properties shows this program:
    %windir%\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge.exe
    with this starting directory:
    %windir%\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe

I can go to that folder and find two .exe files: MicrosoftEdge.exe and MicrosoftEdgeCP.exe
I can double-click either one. On the laptop, I get that popup. On the desktop, nothing.

I would like you to follow these instructions listed here:

How to Reset Microsoft Edge in Windows 10

And please report back after following all of them verbatim.

On the laptop I went to that link.
I performed the steps entitled "Repair Microsoft Edge Through System File Checker".
No change. When I click the Edge icon I still get the popup error.

I did not try the part called "Reset Microsoft Edge Through PowerShell".
    Too much!

It's appalling that a laptop that was re-imaged on May 16 has a failed Edge.
And a new desktop, received in April, also has a failed Edge.

So let it fail. I'll simply not use it.
The fix for me is ... return to Firefox.

    Thanks anyway.

If you would like, I can provide you remote assistance with TeamViewer and you can watch me show you how to do it, it's very simple really.

Private message me if you'd like that!
