Chrome and Adverts
I start each morning by checking international news. For this post I shall use BBC News, London. I find that each page takes close to 5 minutes to completely load due to the number of adverts and videos that open (very slowly) at the top, along the sides, and at the bottom of each news item. It is getting to a point where I am starting to avoid BBC and go instead to CBC. But I miss BBC.
My question is: Is there any setting in Chrome to eliminate this waste of time by stopping these videos and adverts from auto-loading with every news item? (Sometimes I'm on my fifth tab and the first tab is still loading). I might mention that I have not tried any other browser except Edge which I dislike for other reasons - it still needs a lot of work before it reaches IE and Chrome standards.
Thanks in advance
