Which app are you using for mail?
Trying to use Windows 10 Mail.

    @ HippsieGypsie, @ Helmut & @ Caledon Ken:

I got good news for me and for all of you who have been investing so much of your time and effort trying to help me. I solved the problem. HippsieGypsie, what you suggested in your last post still didn't work for some weird reason. However, I figured out a work-around. If you add the contacts one by one in People, then it works like it should - i.e. in Mail when I start typing the name of one of my contacts into the "To:" field, the contacts with that letter pop-up. YAY - at last!

I have 74 contacts so not an outrageous number of contacts to enter.

Thank you to all for your help and a special thank you to HippsieGypsie for all the hours spent in helping me and all the information - I really appreciate it.

You're quite welcome. Glad to be of help, Razz. I learned a lot along the way.

So you're saying that you're adding and filling out all the fields for each contact individually?

I'm glad you worked it out that way, but disappointed it didn't install them as they should.

Yes, typing them into People contacts one by one. A lot of clicks on "+" and "Save"

I sure am glad it seems to work now. I like the idea of using the integrated Mail app.

I must say it is very weird that Microsoft hasn't got something as common place as an email client down pat. You would think with the number of years email has been around that they would have had lots of practice to get a completely flawless email client.

Thanks again HippsieGypsie for all your help.

MS has lost sight of what matters, the basics working correctly.
I agree with you 100% Helmut - "basics working correctly" should always be the primary goal.

Well, like I said, I took you down the wrong path. Still not sure if importing the Tbird .csv file into Outlook.com via the Live Mail portal was the correct thing to do.

Glad you're enjoying the app. Good luck and take care, Razz.
