Edge not working properly after OS update 1607 14393.969

After I bring up Edge, when I select favorites to expand a list, the list immediately collapses. If I put my cursor in the address bar field, it immediately bounces out and selects refresh icon. If I select the Hamburger menu (three dots) it immediately selects a different icon.
Kinda feels like a virus, but I don't see any signs of one in Defender.

    You could try
Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 8 and 10 - Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

    - find Edge on that page, observe any instructions at the top of the section.

Thanks, but I don't feel it's safe to run powershell scripts without understanding what they are doing, or have a way to reverse their effects. I see posts on that tread that indicate mixed results.

    Then your options are:

    a. restore your system from a disk image (you do use disk imaging, I hope?)
    b. use a system restore point
    c. do an in-place upgrade repair install
    d. reinstall Win 10

Depends if you seek a solution or prefer to side-step the problem, I guess...

The information in this link fixed it.

Well, that includes the Powershell command I pointed out in #2 which you said you weren't going to run!
