Recently returned from hospital, I’m trying to open my emails I Chrome gmail.
Please provide step by step instructions to return gmail to default view and function so that I may open my email.
Since I can’t open and see the responses provided.

I would clear your browsing data. Open chrome, click on three dots, at bottom of page click on advance Settings, scroll down a little to see.
If that fails I would reset Chrome which is at bottom of Advance settings.
Please be advised this functions could delete stored cookies and passwords that will mean you need to log back in.
Could you post a screen shot of what you see.
