Can you explain, exactly, what is so bad about Edge that makes it unusable to you?
That is easy. In an Enterprise environment that has their networked locked down and supplies their own internal DNS, Edge (and for that matter the App Store) simply does not work. It cannot resolved DNS without being pointed to the open internet. Most companies are unwilling to do that. So we have to override all Edge browser settings and replace IE as the default to be able to hand the end users a functioning computer. Since they are locked down and not allowed to install their own software, the inaccessibility of the App store behind a corporate firewall is acceptable.

This is a major design flaw. One that Microsoft is aware of shortly after rollout of Win 10 and has no plans to fix.

All the end user can get on Edge is:

My experience with Edge is, that's it's even worse: Even if I enter a host name to the ...\etc\hosts file I get the same "cannot reach..." error. And not even entering a numeric IP address helps! I don't see, why what this things has to fiddle with any DNS (or whatever service) if I enter a *numeric* IP address!
