That is easy. In an Enterprise environment that has their networked locked down and supplies their own internal DNS, Edge (and for that matter the App Store) simply does not work. It cannot resolved DNS without being pointed to the open internet. Most companies are unwilling to do that. So we have to override all Edge browser settings and replace IE as the default to be able to hand the end users a functioning computer. Since they are locked down and not allowed to install their own software, the inaccessibility of the App store behind a corporate firewall is acceptable.
This is a major design flaw. One that Microsoft is aware of shortly after rollout of Win 10 and has no plans to fix.
