Outlook 2016 delivers mail in "batches" rather than on arrival.

Where I'm located it is now 9:11 a.m. I'm looking at a group of 17 messages that are tagged as arriving from 6:30 a.m. to 9:06 a.m. They were all delivered at once at 9:08.
Clicking Send and Receive doesn't accomplish anything in between "batch" deliveries. I have set the timing for >Advanced> Send/Receive Groups to 5 minutes, without any change.
On the other hand, my iPhone receives the same messages as they arrive. I think this shows that my ISP isn't to blame. It seems to focus on my Outlook 2016
I've researched this quite a bit without finding any clarity about this "batch" behavior. Any suggestions for a remedy would be great!

    Hi Kupana

You didn't say which domain you are using for mail. I ask this as there were a couple of notes sent out by MS that warned you had to delete your Outlook.com account (hotmail, msn, live) and reconnect. Any chance you have one of these accounts and did you get MS's warnings?

Hi I got that message and all I had to do was reconfirm my password that has been set up ages ago
Once I did that everything back working ok, I use MSN through Windows 10 Mail App
    Hope that helps
