when I surf the net I find websites that have text that are hyperlinks

I have a habit of reading things on the internet ( web site pages ) with my mouse. The problem I have is on almost every website there are green words in the text of the pages that are hyperlinks, I run over them with my mouse as I read and a ad or tip etc pops up. It makes it tough to get through a website for me. If I could stop using my mouse that would help a lot but since I can't it's a habit I need to learn how to disable all those green words that are hyperlinks. I have to make sure I am not disabling actual links that I would want to click to go somewhere else. It is just the green words that are links.

( Sorry I do not know the name of this type of link so I call it " the green words" )

Windows 7??? What browser are you using? I see it on some pages/sites and ignore those words as I know they lead to advertising. Have you consider an ad-blocker add-on/plug-in for your browser/s?

Since I am posting in Tenforums I would assume everyone would know I am using Windows 10, as far as my browser I was Firefox. I have popups disabled in firefox.

@Eaglepi, this is typical of a malware/adware infection. Scan first with ADWCleaner, then Malwarebytes. (free)

    Malwarebytes | AdwCleaner
    Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware & Malware Removal

Just going by what you listed in your System Specs. And No, making that assumption has led to erroneous information being posted.

The only one that is free is Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware & Malware Removal I'd rather not install a trial software. I hope the free one is good enough. when I open it is says " You are not fully protected" Turn on all Real-Time Protection layers to block threats.
I go to settings and turn on the only real-time protection that isn't already on but there is no save button so I close it and next time I open the program I get the same warning again and again
