Junk email
How do I identify specific incoming outlook emails as junk so that they arrive in the junk folder rather than the inbox?
How do I identify specific incoming outlook emails as junk so that they arrive in the junk folder rather than the inbox?
Depending on email client....but the process is basically the same. You have to highlight said email, right click it, move to junk folder. Then there is a popup asking about all other emails from this person/place/company to send it to the junk folder from now on.
Welcome to the TenForums.
Could I just clarify is this Outlook as in Outlook 2010, 2013 or 2016 or is this outlook.com (hotmail rebranded to be ever so confusing)?
As an example in Outlook 2013 open the message. In the ribbon, very left is an menu item to mark as junk.
Since Outlook 20xx is just a client you can also sign into your web mail and block some items so they never reach your computer.
In outlook.com (web browser) you can open message and along the top is a Junk option.
Hope this helps.
This is Outlook 2016 and there doesn't appear to be an obvious answer as there was with live.com. Next time I get one, I'll try the "highlight/right click" suggestion. Thanks.
Sorry, not familiar with 'home ribbon'. How do I access it please? Thanks.
there are several tabs across the top. Starts with file very, left, then home, then on mine send / receive. Each heading has its own ribbon.
Sorry this isn't Outlook 2016. This is the Outlook app for Windows and lines up with the crazy renaming of Hotmail. There is also Outlook for the phone or tablet so we can all go mad.
I don't use this app. I used Outlook.com native through a browser. (Hotmail, msn, live and Outlook.com) all route to the same place. The new native web browser has some features I consider really handy. Easy rules, a sweep function for newsletters, junk mail, blocking, signatures and on and on.
If you are googling ensure you ask how do you mark mail as junk in Outlook app.
Ok thanks but that is a bummer. In mid 2016, I received a message from Microsoft saying that my old email format, live.ca was being phased out and that I should download outlook.com and this format (picture) is what I got. It works fine except for the junk email problem.
Thanks for your assistance.
