Unable to get to google.com in Internet explorer? Other browsers ok.

    Don't know if you've checked but I go to Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections tab, LAN Settings button and assure ONLY the "Automatically detect........." item is checked. Some infections/malware like to throw in a Proxy setting and it nearly always causes problems. Sometimes setting the Security tab to Default helps.

    I did check that. It was set to auto. To fix, I had to manually set to the dns servers that were provided in this thread.

    By default auto dns is set to your router a lot of routers cant handle a lot of dns requests and pass traffic as well netgear is ver bad for that

    Hmm. That is interesting. I wonder why only 1 of my machines in my network was affected then. The other 4 windows computers are all fine. That machine stayed affected even after reloading windows. Should I be resetting firmware on my Asus router...?
