Outlook 2013 repeatedly prompts for email account credentials

I use Outlook 2013 for four different email accounts - two hotmail. com accounts, one outlook.com account, and one sbcglobal.net POP account provided by AT&T via Yahoo.

Beginning a week or so ago, I've started getting password prompts throughout the day for the sbcglobal.net account. I select the checkbox to save the password, but I keep getting prompted for it. This happens maybe once an hour, sometimes more. It's really annoying.

I know the password I'm supplying is correct because I do get email for the account, and I've verified the password using the ATT/Yahoo web interface.

Any suggestions how to stop the repeated prompts?

Were you able to resolve this problem? I have the same issue with my sbcglobal.net account under Outlook 2016 with my MS Office 365 subscription. Time frame is about the same...for the past five days or so. I have tried repairing my email accounts, manually updating them, and clearing the credential manager of all generic credentials. In credentials, there is the option to "remove" the credentials for the SSO_POP_Device and SSO_POP_User, but I have been reluctant to do so. I shut down Skype, because I found a thread where someone said that seemed to be their conflict. I have not made changes to my passwords lately. The only hinky thing is my installation of Join.me. Once I did that, my home page changed, as did my default search browser, but I chalked that up to me not being careful enough with the install. That said, though, that is about the time I started having this problem.

    Any ideas gratefully accepted!

No, I have not resolved the issue.

FYI, I'm using Office 2013, not Office 365, and I do not have Skype.

I also saw those POP-related credentials, and also hesitate to delete them.

One solution I read said to create a new Outlook profile, then delete the old one. (In Windows 10, you do this at Control Panel > User Accounts > Mail > Show Profiles.) Again, I hesitate to do this because I'm afraid I'm going to have to recreate all four email accounts, which would be a pain, and I hate to delete what I don't understand.

I've experienced the same problem during the same time period for three Yahoo/Sbcglobal accounts. I did call the AT&T help line. Here's what she told me: try using another browser. When I explained to her that the problem was with the login through Outlook 2013 and that I didn't have a problem logging into any of my accounts through Chrome (the browser I use), her advice was to clear the Chrome browsing cache and that would fix the Outlook problem! She did explain she was pretty good at "this stuff" and felt confident that was my problem. Unfortunately, it didn't work. If anyone comes up with a solution, I'd love to hear it! Here's another discussion I found: Enter Network Password Dialog Keeps Popping Up. None of these helped me, but they may help you.
