    Edge and Cortana stopped working after latest update on Oct 16, 2016


    I am using HP Envy 27, windows 10. The latest updates on Oct 16-19 had caused problems with internet connection. I restored the computer to the date before Oct 16, 2016. It was working fine for few hours, but now Edge and Cortana stopped working. I have tried clear the browsing history, cookies, form data, etc, but it isn't working. Any suggestions to solve the problem?

    Hi, it depends what's happened of course.
    Someone recommended this:
    Download Cortana Helper Tool - MajorGeeks
    which solved problems trying various published fixes didn't in the one case I've seen this used, but if your problem is deeper, you might try reinstalling it.

    Edge: as you've not mentioned any error message or in what way it's not working I'll suggest this:

When I start using Cortana it will not connect to the Internet. I say, for example, "Hey Cortana" then I say "Facebook Log in" it copies what I say but then comes back with, "The Internet and I are not talking right now." or "I can't connect right...
Start > Power > Shutdown did not anymore shutdown the PC I had to do reset and restart Window 10 again What can be done ? command mode shutdown ?
