how do I pin hotmail to taskbar
Cannot find any reference to this little problem which I find annoying .

Do you run it in a browser rather than on a client like the Mail app?
If so then you can pin the browser. Once thats done you can pin any website to the top of the jump list.
I've had success in clicking the tiny icon at the left end of the HTTP and dragging to the Desktop then either drag to the Taskbar or right-click and Pin to the Taskbar. Maybe could bookmark to the Favorites/Bookmarks Toolbar then do the same.
Why not configure the Mail app to use Hotmail? Seems like a much better solution.
However, regardless, all you have to do is open up Edge, go to Hotmail, then click the 3 dots (...) in the upper right corner and choose "Pin this page to start". After that, you can right click the icon in Start, select More and choose Pin To Taskbar.
right click mail app in start menu, select: pin mail app to taskbar, click on the mail app icon on the taskbar, configure your mail app for your email clients. enjoy.
But in spite of repeating every suggestion very carefully 3 times I have not succeeded in pinning HOTMAIL to the taskbar.
Closest was open Hotmail (from favourites) got to three dots ,pin link to start. Only options in start are unpin or open ,( I dont know what but guess outlook, it has a inconvenient screen layout and is full of star tracks!!!!
So I will console myself with the ability to open Hotmail, (which on the open screen calls itself OUTLOOK !!!)but is conveniently configured and does work.
Thanks again.
Ok I looked and Geeked around a bit.
Am I correct in understanding, you wish to pin your online Email account to the taskbar?
InformationEmail accounts ending in @Outlook.com, @Hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com are powered by Outlook.com. In the coming months, Outlook.com will be upgraded with a new look and enhanced performance, security, and reliability...
click link for more information-> When I log in, I am seeing Outlook.com instead of Hotmail - Microsoft Community
Got to your online account in IE(signed in of course).
NoteTo create a web page "app", you will need to use Internet Explorer.
Then click the gear icon and select: Add site to apps
A confirmation box will pop up, click add.
Now the browser page will change, and is made specifically to be used only for your email or actually the one page or site you create an app for(hence the term app or browser app)
In the all apps column in Start you need to look for the shortcut. In my case it called itself Mail, here:
Now right click the "app" and pin to your taskbar:)
Please don't ask "But why can't I do this with Edge?", because I have no idea, send feedback to Microsoft.
Have you tried the old way?
Go to the site you want, log-in if required, copy the URL from the URL box.
Right click on Desktop - Create Shortcut - paste into Location box - You have shortcut that will open site in your default browser - You can change icon and opening detail as with any other shortcut - add it to the folders that are the actual menu structure and pin to wherever you wish
