I've used the Win 7 hack and now have Vista Windows Mail working, but I find it disappointing that all the email clients except Incredimail lack one very useful feature: a notification area icon that can audibly ding you when mail arrives, even when the mail client is closed.
Some offer that but only partially and while they are open.

I'd use my Incredimail licenses to install IM 2.5 which is supposed to be compatible, but they have ruined the look that their old IncrediMail XE had in their latest versions, just too gaudy for my taste.

This one fits the bill with an audible notification of a new email and a popup.

There is a free version that I'm using and it works great.

Does this integrate with the Action Centre or just give a pop-up of new mail?

It's just a pop up and it has no integration with the Action Centre. But it's really nice and I'm digging it so far, I have it pinned to the task bar and when I get a new email the ICON displays an envelope. .. really slick tool, IMO.

Thanks, will give it a try

Trying to find a replacement for the built in app, Outlook & Gmail support and ideally use the Action Centre

I really like it and it's free. Oh and it's so easy to set up for say, Gmail.. it's well worth the try.
