    Windows 10 Features

    - this may be a bit out of date.. but you could find guides- I searched for
How to use windows mail app

and you can search thru the Tutorial section - here's one - there are more:

Sounds very complicated. If I'm able to do this, will I be able to activate my Comcast account and still have the same email address? I also noticed the statement below in your post. What is a good disk imaging program?

Your best friend should probably be a search engine or a disk imaging program.

    Really think you'd prefer Thunderbird.

Can't comment specifically about Comcast.. if you can get the details needed normally to configure a pop3 email account, then yes.

Disk imaging- good thing to ask about.. it can really help you when in trouble. Here's my standard blurb:
Creating disk images lets you restore Windows and all your disks and partitions to a previous working state, quickly and probably without technical help.

    You can recover from:
    - a failed disk drive (restore to a new one)
    - ransomware (which encrypts your disk)
    - user error
    - unrecoverable problems from failed updates to problem programs
    - unbootable PC (hardware faults aside)

Images also act as a full backup- you can extract files too.

You can even use images to help you move more easily and quickly to a new PC.

Imaging can even help you sleep at night knowing you have a second chance.

Many here recommend Macrium Reflect (free) as a good robust solution and more reliable than some others. It’s
    - more feature rich
    - more flexible
    - more reliable
than Windows Backup and Restore system images.

It's well supported with videos, help and a responsive forum.

To add to that I've been using Aomei Backupper and found some bugs, + poor and Chinglish error messages.
Others have done a personal comparison; Paragon is not thought as good as rated in a review.
A few like the little known Veeam Endpoint (free/commercial).

Can I import my saved contacts, folders etc. back into the email on Win 10 or Thunderbird and stay with Comcast? I don't want to change my email address...had it a very long time.
You cannot export storage folders or contacts to Win 10 mail app without first giving up the rights to your first born child! MS failed to provide this feature. I have tried several times to no avail.
You can export your folders, storage folders and contacts to Thunderbird or another desktop email EM Client. These both have the feature and the transfer is pain free. One thing about TB though is once you are there it is very difficult to export anything back out of there to another program in the event that should happen to change your mind about TB or not like it. I would download it and check it out before transferring contacts and folders to see if it what you want. Not sure if TB is going to have continued support as per entries on the internet.

The Win 10 mail app is useless!! Do not go there!

Still being updated - quite recently so. Future?
    ImportExportTools :: Add-ons for Thunderbird
    - experimental but well-rated import-export tools.

As Tbird has been around a long time there will also be 3rd party tools for this - I used some years ago.
    E.g. (free)
KLS Mail Backup - Freeware Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, Firefox backup
    - Win Mail, Tbird etc etc
    - but of course you need one compatible with both clients.

I can't even get to the let's get started page. Mine just says, your Comcast email settings are out of date or something to that effect.

And when you select "Dismiss"? Does that not let you go into the mail settings to correct it manually?
