These are the settings that work for me:

When you right click on a link you should see the following

Maybe your options have become reversed and open in a new tab is at the top.

    Hi Phil,

    Thank you for your answer.
The settings here are the same as yours, so no joy there
No reverse seen, but still opens every link in a new TAB.

    More ideas ?

    Regards

Hello Kees, It sounds like your IE11 settings have got corrupted in some way. There is a more drastic reset for IE11 on the Advanced tab of Internet Options. You could try this.

It sounded as a good option, I must say, but no results....
I must correct that if I click a link that is directed to the same url suffix (domain) than it will open in the same tab.
But all the google results and all links that are pointing "outside" the domain, open in a new tab.
That's not what I'm used to have it. And I think in most cases it's annoying.

In Google Search settings there is an option which overrides this and forces search results to open in a new tab/window. Make sure you have not selected this by mistake.

    Phil,

Anyone told you recently your are good?

Well I will: YOU ARE GOOD (if not GREAT).
That was it! How did it came there? I certainly must have done it myself, but I didn't remember doing it.
Just like anyone I use Google the most (and a lot) so "all the links" looked like behaving the same.

Thanks a lot, I owe you a drink

Thanks Kees, it was the added information you gave about Google that did it - it is always helpful to provide as much information as possible :)

Please mark the thread as solved and thanks for the reputation!
