No Mail Notifications after Anniversary Update

After the Windows Anniversary Update I now find I no longer get the banner or notification sound when I get new e-mails. Nor does new e-mails show up in the Action Center. I checked the Mail App settings thinking maybe during the update the notification settings got changed but the Show Notifications in the Action Center is still reflecting On and the checkmark is still in the boxes to Show a Notification Banner and Play a Sound. Anyone have a solution to this? If not then I guess I will go back to Office Outlook for my e-mail program.

    Hello Steven, :)

It sounds like you have everything set properly, but you might double check using the tutorial below to see if anything may have been missed.

I checked out the tutorial but noticed it was dated Sep 2015 which looks to be outdated since the Mail app is no longer listed in the "Let apps run in the background" list. According to a question I posted in the Microsoft Community there is no way to add the Mail app to the list.

After experimenting around I found you can now change the Outlook Mail tab on the MSN Home Page to the Mail app. Before when you clicked on the Outlook tab on the MSN Home Page it took you directly to the Outlook Mail web page. After changing the Outlook Mail tab to the Mail app on the MSN Home Page I now get the sound and banner whenever new mail arrives. I just hate when Microsoft makes these kinds of changes and they never notify you about the changes.
