Windows 10: Mail contacts' invalid adresses
Mail contacts' invalid adresses
Using Windows 10 Mail and have had several existing contacts change their email addresses.
Now, when creating a new email for those contacts and using the first letters of their names, all their email addresses including the now invalid addresses appear on the screen. A choice has to be made as to which is current and usable!
I have explored but failed to discover how to delete the invalid email addresses without deleting the contact file, and connection to all its history. Any ideas?
Have you tried using the People app to manage and edit your contacts. You need to add the same mail accounts to the People app as you have for the mail app if they are not already there.
Mail contacts invalid addresses
Thanks for that philc43. Yes, I am using People app as my prime contacts listing. I have deleted the affected contacts and reinstalled the contacts with the latest valid addresses.
When I open a New Email and type in the contact, both the defunct addresses and the latest address appear. I cannot find where the defunct addresses are held. They should disappear from my system when I delete the contacts in People app.
I still have my old Windows Live Mail system and have deleted the affected contacts from there as well.
I can only assume that the contacts email addresses are held elsewhere in Windows 10, but where?
When I send an email to one particular contact, two different addresses show. That person is not in my Contacts list nor is it in my Gmail contact list. How do I eliminate the invalid address?
As a longstanding WLM user recently switched to Thunderbird, I'm really trying to like the new Mail app as my permanent mail client. But I can't find contacts. Where are they?
Also, I want to export contacts to a database of some sort (CSV?)...
After i add my iCloud Account , not all my contacts appear in Mail!!

I've just solved it ,..
by install iCloud App not just add iCloud Account inside Mail, and wait for few minutes and Vola its their.
The Win 10 Mail does not have a connection to contacts. If you want to forward or send E-Mail, you have to open the People app and copy and paste to the To line in the Web 10 Mail page. Is there a way to have the contacts button on the Web 10 mail...
I've synced my contacts with mail, but is only shows a small section of them in contacts.
How do I remove unwanted contacts from Mail app?
