I don't even have any junk folders! But I do have folders called spam and trash and unwanted, yes, all 3! Aren't they all the same thing?
Anyway I was able to create a folder and call it Junk, and rebooted the mail app, but no, still no option to move it there! I will check again after a system reboot though, you never know. I'm confused too. Lol

Emails that I delete go into the Trash folder. So I guess that's normal. lol

I'm running 4 up to date Win 10 Home computers and none of them have the move to junk when right clicking. Hmm.

HRC, yes and I know we're not the only ones, if you go read the feedback which I mentioned earlier there are a lot of people without this option. It's so frustrating.

I had to goto the Windows Store , find the Mail and Calendar App , it will say Installed at 1st but it then updates and under Installed you see "An Update is available" or something similar , I clicked on that and now have the option to Move to Junk , seems I was 2 versions behind. Cannot add sender to the Blocked Senders list though like in LE/WinLive Mail.

came across this thread on the Office Support Website too while searching for info on this new Junk filter option.

I have about 7 email accounts set up, 5 of my own and 2 for my parents, but they are all standard bt pop3 accounts. Obviously I have my live mail account but I never actually use that, only for logging in to windows store etc
    ...
WLM will work (I think) after the Outlook.com transition if you use the POP3 protocol (I do). I can't see MS abandoning industry standard protocols - I'm fairly certain that they're changing the sync mechanism to align their product offerings (Outlook, Exchange, Outlook.com). I could be wrong though

I can't wrap my head around the Mail App, so I'm staying on WLM 2012. Most of my real mail is on other servers anyway.

If MS breaks WLM, then I'll migrate to another client - eM Client seems to get high praises. We'll see if eM Client syncs with Outlook.com after the June 16th change. There are alternative eMail clients that I believe are superior to the Mail App - for my modest send/receive/filter needs anyway.

I've had nothing but trouble using windows mail.
Would not sync to my cable provider, finally determined
it needed to have the internet time update set on, very strange.

It would save my credentials, work for awhile, then be disabled again.
So for me this a bust. Looking for something else that works better
    without all the hassle.

I'm not sure if it is North America Only or not ?? but I have had nothing but trouble with WLM since applying the "Patch: you needed in December to continue using WLM for Hotmail accounts, I got another email beginning of May that said after June 30 WLM won't work anymore for syncing outlook, hotmail etc accounts at all .

It seems they started early as about two weeks ago I started not being able to sync my 2 hot mail accounts , yet WLM was just fine for my ISP email Accounts , so I had to setup Win10 Mail as well , though it seems not to Auto Update as noted above I didn't have the latest version and had to install it manually.

Funnily enough I think the Spam issue posted above may have been fixed as I haven't received any today at all (10-20 each day for last week) and low and behold WLM started syncing again this Morning for me too :)

I did look at eM and Mailbird and a couple of others when this issue started, but found that most of them need the PAID version if you have more than 2 accounts , I am not a fan of MAIL but at least you can add as many accounts as needed, like WLM ,( and doesn't force a Unified Inbox like some either ) I just wish it had the functionality of WLM , though it is way better than when Win10 1st came out and seems to be getting regular updates , so I can only hope for the best.

This was what M$ emailed me about the syncing issue in May ...................
*edit it seems the Ten Forum added * to weblinks below ....if you can spell I am sure you can work it out if needed :)

    Dear User,

Earlier this year we introduced a new Outl*ook*.*com that will help you collaborate with others, focus on what matters, and get more done. The new Outlo*ok*.*com delivers an exciting set of new experiences across web, phone, and desktop, and we’re eager for you to start using it.
It appears that you are currently using Windows Live Mail 2012 to connect to your Out*look*.*com account. Windows Live Mail 2012 does not support the synchronization technologies used by the new Outl*ook*.*com. When account upgrades begin at the end of June, you will no longer be able to receive email sent to your Out*look*.*com account in Windows Live Mail 2012. Rest assured, you can always access your email by logging into Out*look*.*com from any web browser, and you will continue to have access to all your data that is currently in Windows Live Mail 2012.
If you currently use Windows Live Mail 2012, we recommend that you switch to the Mail app in Windows to*day. The Mail app is built in to Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10, and has a more modern design. To begin using it, simply launch the app and add your Out*look*.*com account.
If you are using Windows 7, you can upgrade to a newer version of Windows to enjoy the Mail app and the other benefits. If you do not wish to upgrade, you can access your account via a web browser, or, you can take advantage of a free one-year subscription of Office 365 Personal, and use Outl*ook 2016 to connect to your account.* This Off*ice 365 subscription also includes other productivity applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel. It works on Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, and Windows 10.
Please take action before Ju*ne 30th, 2016, which is when we’ll begin upgrading accounts that currently use Windows Live Mail 2012. If you have more questions, please find answers to common FAQs in this help article, or you can contact Microsoft support.

As you can see from my profile, I'm in Canada.
I have been using WLM ever since later stage of Vista era, and I am still using it. WLM 2012 as of now.
I have a pop account and a Hotmail.com acct configured in it. They all work exactly like before.
I ignored the "patch" notification and I have not had any trouble yet.
I kind of suspect that the "patch" you installed screwed up your WLM.

I suspect you are right :) but I was having the odd issue syncing , so thought it may help ......no.....

I let Win10 onto my older computer finally last week and WLM would no longer open , would not uninstall and would not reinstall , so I have since done a Clean win10 install on the Comp , but have yet to try reinstalling WLM. I looked at my accounts via the web interface during that debacle and noticed neither account was exactly like I had it in WLM ie folders etc and I think I have lost some stuff.

As yet I can't seem to get W10-Mail to sync Folders within folders etc automatically , not sure why when I setup an account, All Folders aren't auto downloaded and fully synced as I have set each Account to download email from "anytime".

Am trying your tip on notifications too David...thanks

    Ps like your Sig. :)
