It should be fast on SP3. That's the kind of platform MS is basing all of these from.... mobile devices.

Spartan is perfectly usable in it's present state. It does have some quirks but nothing major that I would say make it unusable.

I'm not sure about it being any faster than any other browsers I've used, I don't perceive speed differences in browsers, they're all about the same as far as I can tell.

The major thing missing for me is addons (such as adblocker).

I like the "Reading" view, just wish it was available on more pages than it is.

After using Spartan for awhile, I can't say I'd consider moving over to it from FireFox unless it got way better, as it is, it's just another browser, nothing to make it stand out.

@NickTh , As I told you, there should be a Settings option for Download. Unfortunately, it's not ready yet.
Yes, I understand that. My primary concern is not this "Downloads Place" though, is the behavior when you click to download a file. Spartan does not ask for any confirmation right now. But as you said it's still under heavy development (I understand) and I hope that this will be added in future release. I've made my suggestion though (not as a problem, but as a suggestion) in Feedback App, just in any case :)

I'm using Spartan in my everyday browsing (just for 2 days) and I can say it works pretty much well.

That option will come. It's just not ready. I stopped using Spartan not because the download option isn't ready, but Spartan itself is not ready yet. MS is making us do their job by building it from scratch. What we have is only the interface. There's nothing else in it.

IE and File Explorer aren't in that list either Edwin. There are other apps missing from the list as well such as Notepad, Wordpad, etc... It seems that list only contains items that can be uninstalled.
I think you're right! Seems there's a new addition to the 'fold'!

I went back to using Pale Moon. I gave Spartan a try and it's definitely not ready. I'll give it another try when it gets updated.

It'd be nice if they could slip the odd 'Spartan hotfix' in, a couple times a week or so, as opposed to waiting for another new Build.

Isn't that the point of testing a preview? Testing it? So MS can get feedback of what sites don't work (via the frown button), so they can get telemetry, so they get feedback when it doesn't work and crashes?

If you all just say "Pfff, not good enough for me, I can't be bothered to test it" then I wonder why you bother with the preview at all - you may as well just look at pictures.

Frankly, no sarcasm to you, I am not surprised it is fast - it has no useable features yet, to speak of. Holds promise? Those dozens of programming experts, from the largest IT organisation in the world, have been "developing " this for 6 months or even more. This is the best they can throw at us for examination??
Frankly, I think you're underestimating the amount of effort it takes to build an entirely new web browser from scratch. The fact that it's already so relatively complete, HTML rendering wise is amazing. So the chrome is still being worked on. So the various app features are buggy... the important part is how it renders web pages, and that seems to be top notch, uses a bare minimum of resources (10-15MB per page? Wow!) and it's super fast.

How fast it renders is has nothing to do with all the other stuff around it, like having a working download manager, or links bar that works correctly.

It's far from a preview. A preview is something that works and just need some tweaking. This one barely works at all. Some functions are "coming soon". It's very raw.

The concept is very good. Most of us here are expecting something better than that. It's even a pain posting a reply here using that thing.
I tested the preview of Maxthon Nitro and Vivaldi. That my friend is what you call a "preview". Not this.
